What Is Spam?
Spam is any unsolicited commercial electronic message sent to an individual’s email, instant messaging account, or mobile phone. This includes but is not limited to unwanted email messages, text messages, and instant messages. Spam can also refer to unsolicited commercial comments on blogs, social media platforms, and other online platforms.
What About The Laws Against Spam?
There are laws in place to protect individuals from spam. In the United States, the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 outlines the rules and regulations surrounding commercial emails. This includes requirements for identifying the sender, providing an opt-out mechanism, and including a physical address. Other countries have similar laws in place to protect their citizens from spam.
